Supported Question Types

With PanQuiz! you can create assessments using several different question types. You can find below all the currently supported question types: click on each type to get more information and examples.

Multiple Choice
The Multiple Choice question type allows users to choose only one correct answer among the other answers (at least two).

Example 1

In a right triangle the longer leg is 2 cm and the hypotenuse 2.5 cm. What is the length of the shortest leg?

  1 cm
  1.5 cm
  2 cm
Not enough data

Although users can choose one correct answer only, the teacher can mark more answers as correct, even giving different scores, like in the example below.

Example 2

What is the result of the expression \(\frac{3}{2}-\frac{1}{2}\)?

  1
  2
  3
\(\frac{2}{2}\)

Among the other options, PanQuiz! allows you to display answers in random order: this way, each time the assessment is taken, answers order will always be different.

Multiple Answer
The Multiple Answer question type allows users to choose more than one correct answer among the other answers (at least two). For example, in the medical field, ask students to select symptoms associated with a medical condition.

Example

Choose all of the examples or types of carbohydrates.

Galactose
Fructose
  Surcrose
  Maltose

Among the other options, PanQuiz! allows you to display answers in random order: this way, each time the assessment is taken, answers order will always be different.

True / False
The True / False question type allows users to choose if a statement is true or false.

Example

The Earth is the fourth planet from the sun.

  True
  False

PanQuiz! also allows you to change and customize the labels “True” and “False”.

Multiple True / False
The Multiple True / False question type allows users to choose if one of more statements are true or false.

Example

For each of the following statements, select T if the statement is true. Otherwise, select F if false.

(T) (F)  Neptune is the planet closest to the Sun
(T) (F)  Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system
(T) (F)  Pluto is still considered a planet in the solar system

 

Fill-in-the-Blank

The Fill-in-the-Blank question type allows users to manually type the correct answer.

Example 1

In which year the use of @ symbol was initiated in email address?

_____1971_____

Although usually the correct answer is only one, the teacher can add more correct answers, even giving different scores, like in the example below.

Example 2

What was the name of the US President Kennedy, assassinated in Dallas on November 22nd, 1963?

_____John_____
_____John Fitzgerald_____

 

Essay

The Essay question type allows users to enter any-length text that won’t be graded automatically, but manually by the teacher. It can be used to request essays, explanations, comments, feedbacks and other information.

 Choose a book or books that have affected you deeply and explain why.

 

Fixed Text (read-only)
The Fixed Text (read-only) question type allow users to read an introdution, view a video, a document and much more. It can be used to introduce a series of questions or to provide further instructions and materials.
